THE QUEEN OF VILLAGES

The Empire Hall in Wath-upon-Dearne hosted many events for the surrounding community. It was an independant Annexe of Saint Joseph’s Roman Catholic School and a raging dance hall through the 50’s. It’s latter years, as seen here accomodated a sewing business “Smartgirl”. The building has long since been demolished and its land sold to private ownership.
